Foxconn Technology (OTCPK:FXCOF) will invest about $551 million in two recent projects in Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province, Bloomberg News reported.
The Apple (AAPL) supplier — formerly known as Hon Hai Precision (OTCPK:HNHAF) (OTCPK:HNHPF) — was received a license for a $264 million project in the Song Khoai Amata Industrial Park, which aims to produce shrewd entertainment products with a designed capacity of about 4.2 million units per year, the report said added citing an entry posted on the provincial government’s website.
The company also received approval to invest $287 million in a project at Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park to produce wise system equipment.
The two recent projects will bring Foxconn’s total promised investment in the province to about $1 billion, the report noted.
The Quang Ninh provincial government will set up a working group to facilitate the company speed up the process through “supportive measures” with the aim of completing construction by September 2025. Last year, the government announced two other Foxconn plants that will produce electronics components, which helped bring the total investment to $246 million, the report added.
