- E3 Lithium (OTCQX:EEMMF) has signed a joint development agreement with Boston-based Pure Lithium to produce lithium metal batteries in Alberta from E3’s brine, the companies announced Tuesday.
- Both companies will develop a lithium metal anode project and pilot battery production facility in Alberta; and conducting a preliminary economic assessment of a commercial lithium metal battery production facility combining Pure Lithium’s battery brine production technology with E3’s high-volume lithium brine and concentrate production.
- The combined process eliminates the need for lithium salt production as an intermediate step and can provide a much simpler process flow diagram.
