LONDON (Reuters) – Apple (NASDAQ:) may be holding back smartphone browser innovation, according to a report by Britain’s competition regulator, which recommended investigating the Apple and Google (NASDAQ:) duopoly in mobile ecosystems with a recent mandate.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said on Friday it had made a preliminary finding that mobile browser markets were not working well for British businesses and millions of phone users.
