has signed a sponsorship deal with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami football club, making the club its global training partner.
The recent sponsorship agreement will see the Polkadot logo appear on all IMCF first team training kits, with the launch taking place ahead of the club’s away match against Chicago Fire FC on August 31.
Players and staff will wear Polkadot training shirts during official sessions at the Florida Blue Training Centre in Miami, on away days and during pre-match warm-ups.
As a lead partner, Polkadot will engage Inter Miami fans through interactive fan zones and digital campaigns.
The company will also benefit from branding opportunities at the training facility and throughout Chase Stadium, with indoor and outdoor signage, LED displays and other stadium visuals.
Chrissy Hill, CLO and interim COO of Parity Technologies, Polkadot’s lead technical collaborator, said: “We are thrilled that Polkadot’s innovative community continues its strong commitment to the future of entertainment by sponsoring Inter Miami. Knowing that this team of global soccer stars will soon be sporting the brand we love and support on their jerseys is beyond exciting.”
Euan Warren, Vice President of Partnerships at Inter Miami, added: “Partnering with Polkadot as our global training partner is a natural fit for Inter Miami. Our shared vision of innovation ensures this collaboration will resonate with our fans around the world.”
According to its latest treasury report, Polkadot has allocated $87 million from DOT for various initiatives in the first half of 2024.
The largest portion of expenses was spent on marketing and information activities. More than $36 million was allocated for advertising, events, meetings, conferences and other initiatives.
These expenses, twice as high as in the previous half-year, were justified by the desire to attract recent users, developers and enterprises to the Polkadot ecosystem.
After completing work on Polkadot 1.0 in July 2023, the blockchain community is now preparing for Polkadot 2.0, which is powered by advanced technologies such as Async Backing, Elastic Scaling, and Agile Coretime.
