At the time of writing, the pair was trading at around 0.7137, down 0.17%.

The relative strength index (RSI) has turned bearish, signaling that sellers are gaining momentum as it has fallen below the neutral 50 level.

For a bearish resumption to occur, AUD/USD must clear the May 21 low of 0.7099 for traders to test the 50-day SMA. In case of further weakness, the next support level becomes the 100-day SMA at 0.7024, followed by 0.7000.

On the other hand, a break above the 20-day SMA will expose the milestone at 0.7200. Above this area, the next resistance is the year-to-date (YTD) high at 0.7264.
