The next group of EasyA hackathon winners (also known as “gigabrains”) are headed to Y Combinator. Artemiy Malyshau and Jeevan Juttla attended their first EasyA x hackathon almost two years ago, where they began experimenting with ideas that would later become Gecko Sec. Today they have just been accepted into the world renowned accelerator Y Combinator, which has supported some of the most successful Web3 companies such as CoinBase and many others.

According to the team, Gecko Sec enables Web3 developers to quickly create secure code without wasting time on tools that don’t deliver results or relying on one-off human tests that quickly become old-fashioned. As they continue to develop their groundbreaking software, they are working to make it available to teams using Polkadot. Writing code that is protected and secure is one of the biggest problems for Web3 developers, as many millions of dollars are spent every month on security audits on Web3 itself.

EasyA gigabytes, Jeevan Jutla and Artemiy Malyshau, admit that EasyA helped them get off the ground and inspired them to achieve success.

“What started at the EasyA hackathon led to us receiving support from Y Combinator. Big shout out to Phil and Dom for pushing us out of our comfort zone and bringing us here!” said Artemiy Malyshau, co-founder of Gecko Sec.

Jeevan Juttla and Artemiy Malyshau also have excellent professional and educational experience. Jeevan Juttla, CEO and co-founder of Gecko Sec, completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at King’s College London. After graduating, Jeevan was hired by the UK Government’s National Cybersecurity Center to secure UK government data and subsequently joined Binance as a security engineer.

Artemiy Malyshau also graduated with First Class Honors in Electrical Engineering from King’s College London, one of the top universities in the UK. Shortly thereafter, he obtained a Master’s Degree with Honors in Applied Computational Science and Engineering from Imperial College University.

GeckoSec joins a long list of EasyA hackathon winners who have achieved tremendous success in blockchain technology. Other EasyA hackathon winners such as Axal, founded by Harvard graduate Ashlan Ahmed, have received support from a16z and plan to announce their latest round of fundraising later this month. To date, EasyA graduates have started companies valued at nearly $3 billion.

EasyA has seen interest from VCs looking to gain access to its startup pipeline. While it hasn’t revealed exact details yet, EasyA says it aims to launch a fund dedicated to investing exclusively in the gigabrain community and hackathon winners.

“Seeing our EasyA gigabras go from starting at our hackathons to being accepted into YC is a testament to the talent density and founding spirit of the EasyA community. I’ve never seen anything like it.” said Dom Kwok, co-founder of EasyA.

Much of the success of the EasyA hackathon winners can be attributed to the company’s co-founders, who played a key role in spotting young talent and supporting them as founders. Users can participate in any EasyA hackathon and find Phil and Dom on the ground, which will inspire developers to release more unicorns. EasyA co-founders Phil and Dom have been working in blockchain for over 10 years. Before EasyA, Phil worked at the prestigious law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, and Dom worked at the world’s largest private equity firm, Blackstone Group (NYSE:). Thanks to their education, they and EasyA have managed to attract a unique group of talented founders from across the United States and Europe. Phil was a distinguished scholar at the University of Cambridge, and Dom studied at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with honors as a Joseph Wharton and Benjamin Franklin Scholar.

According to Phil and Dom, they’re just getting started. The EasyA community will be receiving many high-profile fundraising announcements in the coming months.

About EasyA

EasyA is one of the most popular Web3 applications that allows anyone to learn about Web3 directly from their phone. EasyA graduates have founded nearly $3 billion in startups and raised funding from top VCs such as a16z, Founders Fund, YC and many others.

Founded by brothers Phil and Dom Kwok, top graduates of the University of Cambridge and The Wharton School respectively, EasyA has over one million users and won Apple’s highly coveted App of the Day award.
