- BioMark diagnostics (BMKDF) announced Tuesday that the USPTO has granted notice of patent approval for its lung cancer detection technology using urine samples.
- The patent expands the company’s metabolomics platform beyond blood testing to include lung cancer detection, screening, treatment monitoring, staging and drug evaluation.
- The company said its metabolomics-based approach could provide an earlier and less invasive alternative to customary DNA-based testing.
- The company is focusing on the liquid lung cancer biopsy market, which is expected to exceed $24 billion by 2035.
