According to Peter Brandt, XRP is the clear winner of the trade

Peter Brandt, a trader long known for his blunt view of cryptocurrencies, said many digital assets will end up as junk, even as he singled out XRP as the strongest candidate for trading employ.

The comment came during Crypto Banter’s interview with Ran Neuner and was quickly noticed when Neuner said he didn’t expect such a response.

A tough twist in a familiar debate

Brandt said XRP would be his top choice if the question is which coin has the best chance of becoming a working payment network. He also put Solana and Ethereum in the same group, but his choice of XRP stood out because he spent years attacking the token and its supporters.

His comments convey a divided message. On the one hand, it granted XRP credit for possible real-world transaction employ; on the other hand, he said that most cryptocurrencies will not survive in any meaningful way. This mix of praise and warnings helped the interview spread so quickly.

The reaction spreads quickly

The clip quickly spread across cryptocurrency social media after Crypto Banter Clips shared it on X asking if Brandt really said XRP. Neuner also made it clear he was surprised, saying he never expected Brandt to speak highly of XRP in such a context.

The aged criticism still lingers

This surprise made sense given Brandt’s recent achievements. In December 2025, he said that XRP investors were among the easiest crowds to lure, and later called XRP and silver fans some of the most bullish bulls he’s seen in five decades of trading.

Still, his view of this asset was not one-sided. In October 2025, he posted an XRP chart and called it a very clear long-term setup, and in April 2026, he even asked followers where they thought XRP could find support during a bear market.

For XRP holders, the latest comments were another sign that Brandt sees at least one employ case where the token belongs at the front of the pack.

For Brandt, however, the issue was narrower: XRP may be better suited to the payments race than most other fields, but that doesn’t mean he trusts the rest of cryptocurrencies to survive it.
