When the FTSE 100 runs out, I still see opportunities!

Last week was another hit for FTSE 100 Index of leading actions. Blue-chip benchmark has reached a up-to-date level of all time. Over the past year, it increased by 13%.

Despite the good performance of the index, some companies still look like potential occasions.

Related British food

As an example, consider Related British food (LSE: ABF). I recently added it to my portfolio.

I think the current valuation looks inexpensive. After a 16% decrease in price over the past year, a member of FTSE 100 is now trading in price to profit below 10.

I see the risk. Sugar valuations are expected this year, eating profits. A company company dealing in Primark clothing operates in an environment where it is squeezed on one front by inexpensive rivals, such as Shein, and on the other by an increasingly elaborate (and therefore high-priced) global supply chain.

But Primark hits me as a great business on his own. Add to other brands ABF is the owner Twin AND Cereal dorset I believe that the profitable company looks like an opportunity at the current price.

JD Sport

Another retail operator who feels the heat is JD Sport (LSE: JD).

After a few years of results on the stock exchange, it is much more hard for JD Sports. The FTSE 100 seller recorded a share price accident 33% Over the past year.

Many warnings of profits shocked the city’s trust in management. Add to this the cost of an ambitious program opening the store and the risk that the destitute trust of consumers can harm expenses on branded sportswear, and the price drop makes sense.

Despite this, the company has a proven formula and global range and is solidly profitable. He expects to ensure profit all year before taxation and adjustment of the item north of 900 million GBP.

Contrary to this, I believe that its market capitalization worth 4 billion pounds is an opportunity in view.

As I think about FTSE 100

What’s going on?

How can individual FTSE 100 members cope so badly when the index itself is driving gangbusters?

It is like a cricket team or a model railway club: in general they can do well, but individual members may do badly. But for them the overall performance would be even higher.

I could invest in the FTSE 100 tracking fund to try to apply the long -term potential that I see for the index. Instead, however, I bought individual FTSE campaigns, such as ABF and JD Sports.

While their last stock prices were at least destitute, I remain sanguine about their long -term potential.

Getting now, which I see as bargain valuations in the basement, I hope that my philosophy of buying and experiencing long -term investments means that I can apply future price recovery.
