Investing.com – Japan’s stock market was lower at the close on Wednesday as losses in the , sector led to lower stocks.
At the close in Tokyo, the index fell by 2.22%.
The best performers of the session were: Inpex company. (TYO:), which increased by 4.41%, or 87.00 points, to reach 2,058.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. (TYO:) added 4.02%, or 56.00 points, ending at 1448.00 and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (TYO:) increased by 3.22%, or 143.00 points, to 4,589.00 in the final session.
The worst performer was TDK Corp (TYO:), which fell by 5.13%, or 100.00 points, to reach 1,847.50 at closing. Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. (TYO:) fell 4.95% or 116.00 points to end at 2229.00 and Advantest sp. (TYO:) fell 4.85%, or 334.00 points, to 6,556.00.
From 2920 to 2920, dwindling stocks outnumbered rising ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange to 739, with 198 ending unchanged.
The index measuring the implied volatility of options on the Nikkei 225 fell 12.33% to 24.75.
Crude oil for November delivery rose 1.63%, or 1.14, to $70.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodity trading, Brent crude for December delivery rose 1.52%, or 1.12, to $74.68 a barrel, while December gold futures fell 0.78%, or 21.10, reaching a price of $2,669.20 per troy ounce.
USD/JPY rose 0.24% to 143.91, while EUR/JPY rose 0.22% to 159.25.
US Dollar Index futures were up 0.07% at 101.00.
