A US judge will hold a hearing on the family’s objections to the Boeing settlement

(Reuters) – U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor said on Friday he will hold a hearing on Oct. 11 to hear objections from relatives of people killed in two Boeing (NYSE:) 737 MAX crashes as agreed by planemaker and pleads guilty to criminal fraud conspiracy .

On July 24, the planemaker finalized an agreement to plead guilty to a criminal fraud charge and pay up to $487 million after violating a 2021 deferred prosecution agreement.

Family members say the fine is too low and raise other concerns about the settlement. O’Connor will also consider objections to the agreement submitted by Poland’s national airline LOT before deciding whether to accept the settlement.
