Introducing the Tellor Layer

Tellor Layer is a groundbreaking blockchain solution designed to achieve consensus on subjective data through a network of economically motivated parties involved in the project. As a Layer 1 blockchain, Tellor Layer enables users to request and validate a wide range of data, relying on a decentralized network of validators to maintain chain integrity and security. To learn more about the technical foundations of Tellor Layer, the team invites users to read the fresh white paper.

About the Public Testnet: Antietam Testnet

The launch of the public testnet, codenamed Antietam Testnet, represents a critical phase in Tellor Layer’s development. This initial iteration focuses on testing the network’s core functionalities, including node participation, validation processes, and data reporting mechanisms. The Antietam Testnet will undergo at least two iterations, each designed to stress test the network and refine its processes in preparation for the mainnet launch.

How to participate in the public network test

The primary goal of the Antietam Testnet is to engage the public in testing the core functionalities of Tellor Layer. Participants are encouraged to set up nodes, stake as validators, report data, and test TRB token bridges to and from Tellor Layer.

A detailed guide is provided to support participants set up Tellor Layer nodes, join the network, stake as validators, and start the reporting process. This guide assumes basic knowledge of the Cosmos SDK and a comfort level in running experimental code via the command line interface. Please note that Oracle data reporting is not yet available for public testing.

Tellor Setup Guide

To join the Tellor Layer public testnet, users can utilize the setup guide available in the Antietam Testnet documentation. The team encourages all participants to read the guide thoroughly before getting started to ensure a velvety setup. User feedback and participation are crucial as Tellor continues to move towards mainnet launch.

Joining the community

For additional support or to connect with the Tellor team, users can join the Discord community and participate in the “test tier” discussion channel, where the team is content to answer any questions or support troubleshoot issues.

About Tellor

Tellor is a decentralized oracle network that enables shrewd contracts on and other blockchains to interact securely with off-chain data. With its creative design, Tellor brings the power of decentralized consensus to the world of data validation and reporting.
