The English Premier League is the most popular sports league in the world, attracting more viewers than the UEFA Champions League and Bundesliga combined. In the 2022-23 season, the EPL had a combined audience of 3.23 billion.
According to Nielsen data, the broadcast reaches 712 million households in 190 countries. During the season, the league reaches 2.01 billion viewers for live game broadcasts and 1.22 billion viewers for highlights and other non-live content.
Premier League clubs also have a staggering social media following, with more than half a billion followers. Leading the way are Facebook (NASDAQ:) with 240 million followers, Instagram with 157 million, TikTok with 56 million, X with 123 million and YouTube with 28 million.
Advertisements on Valhalla’s perimeter LED boards will be strategically placed to maximize visibility. A TV-facing advertising system ensures ads are clearly noticeable during the broadcast. Creative flexibility allows for animated adjustments to ad content. Branding will be noticeable within the event itself, providing exposure within the program.
The ads will provide cross-channel reach, allowing them to be seen across devices and platforms, including broadcast, social media, mobile and online. There are no virtual overlays to disrupt the Premier League ads, ensuring uninterrupted visibility. Furthermore, minimal ad avoidance makes ads almost unavoidable for viewers.
The team estimates that every minute of LED advertising translates into an impressive 156 minutes of on-screen ad exposure globally.
The ad campaign will feature 100 minutes of ad time during the season and will be broadcast globally to ensure wide reach. At least 40% of the ad inventory will be displayed during matches involving the league’s top clubs.
The wide-ranging campaign is expected to reach a huge global audience. In total, it is expected to reach over 200 million people, with around 1.2 billion views and a total on-screen duration of almost 440 hours. In Europe, the campaign is expected to generate around 81 million views with an on-screen duration of around 181 hours.
In Asia and Oceania, around 47 million views are expected with an on-screen duration of almost 168 hours. In Africa, the campaign is forecast to reach around 48 million views with an on-screen duration of almost 34 hours.
The campaign will be featured on major TV networks worldwide including Sky Sports, TNT, Amazon (NASDAQ:) Prime, BBC (highlights), NBC Sports (including Peacock), USA Network, Telemundo, FuboTV (NYSE:)), Optus Sports, Star Sports, Disney+ Hotstar, beIN Sports, Supersport, Sky Deutschland, Canal+, DAZN, Sky Italia, Astro, Now TV and Truevisions.
