San Francisco, USA/California, July 15, 2024, Chainwire
Web3 and Web2 developers now have the option to expand with Constellation Network’s long-awaited Hypergraph distributed ledger technology, developed over the past several years under various U.S. Department of Defense contracts.
Constellation’s Global Metagraph Hackathon is a fully virtual, free-to-attend event that will take place from July 15 to September 9, 2024. A total of $100,000 in $DAG (Constellation Network’s cryptocurrency) will be awarded to winners in several categories spanning metagraph development and chain tools, with the top prize of $25,000 awarded to the author of the best metagraph.
With its Hackathon, Constellation officially unveils its application layer technology “metagraph,” which runs on the Hypergraph global consensus layer, to a global audience. A metagraph can be any type of Layer 1 decentralized application network (dApp) or legacy Web2 network with its own internal business logic. Other blockchains can even be metagraphs on Constellation’s Hypergraph.
“Constellation’s Hypergraph is the blockchain of blockchains,” says Ben Jorgensen, CEO of Constellation Network. “The best way for Web3 and blockchain to advance for all of us is through interoperability and collaboration across chains and communities. Many of us are building these networks separately that can support things like decentralized AI, tokenized assets, IoT edge computing, decentralized finance, and the many other Web3 creations that seem to be popping up everywhere.”
“But Hypergraph?” Ben continues: “This technology has the potential to connect them all, make everything interoperable, provide them with a foundational infrastructure that can secure their networks and verify data flows.”
Panasonic (OTC:) and IBM (NYSE:) has partnered with Constellation, SIMBA Chain, C14 cryptocurrency launch service, Stardust Collective, and National DigiFoundry, led by members of the U.S. National Science Foundation, the U.S. Space Force, and the U.S. Department of the Treasury, to support the development of novel metagraph technologies that will interoperate in ways never seen before in space.
Constellation’s swift, free Hypergraph network is uniquely designed using a DAG-based infrastructure and microservices to create a foundational digital transfer layer with a malleable fabric and application network overlay (metagraph). This facilitates interoperability and composability across Web3 and legacy Web2 networks, delivering the network security, data validation, scalability, and simplified deployment that businesses and governments need to implement.
“Interoperability” is a buzzword in the Web3 space. It can be summed up as the ability for all networks to communicate with other networks, like in a shrewd factory or city where multiple networks of IoT devices communicate with each other and share data, each with its own unique metagraph network communicating through the underlying Hypergraph.
“I’ve been looking forward to this year since we founded the company. Our vision has always been to create developer-friendly and open blockchain tools for the masses. This hackathon marks the beginning of the many expressions that metagraphs has to offer, and the list of use cases seems endless. I’m grateful to the team that made this possible, as well as the partners who stepped up to the plate and helped make it happen.”
– Benjamin Diggles, Chief Strategy Officer
Constellation metagraphs can work with any data type, directly connect to external data sources, support existing Scala or Java libraries, provide full control over network validation and consensus logic, and scale as much as your applications need with a multi-tiered microservices architecture.
“With technology validated by rigorous U.S. Department of Defense standards and collaboration with industry giants like Panasonic and IBM, this hackathon is more than a competition; it’s an invitation to developers around the world to pioneer the next generation of decentralized applications and revolutionize the digital landscape.”
-Altif Brown, Architect of the Global Community
